This week will be a little different. Because of Thanksgiving not much was happening in Hollywood in terms of major announcements. However, there was some interesting rumors.

These rumors come from Murphy’s Multiverse, a site run by Charles Murphy. I consider him to be a reliable source and have used his info numerous times in the past.

It’s important to remember that these are RUMORS! Mr. Murphy has stated that he could NOT confirm these rumors with a second source. IF these rumors prove to be true, they would be HUGE spoilers for upcoming MCU installments. So if you hate spoilers, READ NO FURTHER!!!

1. Black Panther: Doctor Doom will be the villain of Black Panther 2.
Below is word for word what he was told:

“Victor Von Doom will begin expanding his empire, conquering parts of Africa and, ultimately, come into conflict with the nation of Wakanda and the Black Panther.”

“Kevin Feige just asked me last week if I had any more ideas or stories for the Hulk. And I said yeah, I think there’s still some stories to tell. And he said, ‘Well why don’t you come in and tell me about them and we’ll see if we can find a place for you in the Marvel universe?’”

A behind the scenes Endgame clip was released:

The Hollywood Reporter reported that the final runtime for Avengers: Endgame is 3 hours and 58 seconds officially making it the longest MCU film ever!

The Russo Brothers were awarded the Directors of the Year Award at CinemaCon.

 

Joe Russo visited Mumbai, India for an Endgame fan event and shared several interesting tidbits:

1. Endgame will be Stan Lee’s final cameo.

2. An LGBT character will be introduced in the MCU “very soon.”

3. Tom Holland wasn’t given a script “because he has very hard time keeping his mouth shut.”

When Xpress Cinema asked for Endgame plot details, Joe would only say that “Endgame isn’t from Thano’s perspective.”

The Hollywood Reporter has reported that a special screening of Endgame will be shown at the Moscow International Film Festival on April 23rd before it’s released anywhere else.

Discussing Film reported that Black Widow will start filming June 10th.

The Hollywood Reporter: David Harbour has joined the cast of Black Widow in a currently undisclosed role.

He had this to say in an interview with Entertainment Tonight at CinemaCon:

Variety reported that Warner Brothers and James Gunn have decided to remove Deadshot from the Suicide Squad sequel. Idris Elba was previously reported to be playing that role, but now he will be playing a new and currently unknown character.

Vin Diesel announced via Instagram video that he has been cast in the Avatar sequels. 

 

Rumors

According to Deadline, rumors going around at CinemaCon are saying that Dr Strange could be released in November 2020. This is highly doubtful considering that previous reports from The Hollywood Reporter said that Dr. Strange has a May 2021 release date. Another wrench thrown into this particular rumor is that The Eternals, which seems to be further along in development, is rumored to be released in November 2020. No one will know for sure until Marvel makes the official announcement.

The Canberra Times reported the rumor that Shang-Chi, Marvel’s first film with an Asian protagonist could be coming to Sydney, Australia for filming.

In an interview with Den of Geek, Clark Gregg said that he heard season seven could be the last for Agents of Shield.

In an interview with Collider, Kevin Feige said The Eternals will be an ensemble movie like Guardians of the Galaxy and will span “tens of thousands of years.”

That Hashtag Show reported that The Eternals will be the first MCU film with an openly Gay male lead. Details on who the character is are currently under wraps.

During an interview with Cinemablend, Kevin Feige said that the Marvel TV shows on Disney + will be connected to the MCU. He also confirmed that the Loki show will happen first. When asked why it’ll be first, he answered, “Two words: Tom Hiddleston.” The characters in these shows will undergo character development that will carry over to their next film appearances.

In another interview with Slashfilm, he said that the the Disney + shows would be set in the past, present, and future of the MCU and cover a variety of genres.

HNEntertainment has reported that Black Panther stunt coordinator Darrin Prescott is expected to join the crew for Black Widow.

An IMAX comparison trailer for Avengers: Endgame has been released.

In an interview with Screenrant, Kevin Feige say that the Quantum Realm is “really  important” to the future of the MCU and has “untapped potential.”

Black Panther won the Costume Designers Guild Award for Excellence in a Sci-Fi/Fantasy Film.

The first season two trailer for Cloak and Dagger has been released.

Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse will be released digitally on February 26. It’ll be released on DVD, Blu-Ray, and 4K Ultra HD on March 19.

A short Spider-Ham film will be included on the Blu-Ray.

A new Captain Marvel clip revealing Annette Bening’s role as the Kree Supreme Intelligence was played during her visit to the Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

A new behind the scenes clip from Captain Marvel has been released. In it, Jude Law is officially confirmed to be playing Yon-Rogg.

A trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home has been released in Japan.

Guinness World Records has awarded Hugh Jackman and Sir Patrick Stewart the record title of longest career as a live-action Marvel superhero. They played Wolverine and Professor Charles Xavier respectively for 16 years and 228 days.

In an interview with Variety, Gwyneth Paltrow said that she’s leaving the MCU after Endgame. She’s open to returning for cameos or flashbacks if Marvel ever asks her.

In an interview with Comicbook.com, Kevin Feige debunked the R-rated Black Widow rumor saying, “It never was going to be… Somebody writes, ‘I hear it’s R-rated!’ And then everybody writes it up.”

He confirmed that James Gunn’s script for Guardians of the Galaxy will be used.

He also said that more than three MCU films a year is a possibility. Marvel has plans for the next 5-6 years of films, but nothing will be announced until after Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Deadline reported that The Punisher and Jessica Jones are officially cancelled. Season three of Jessica Jones will be available to stream this summer, but this is the end for the Marvel shows on Netflix. In a letter posted on Marvel.com, the head of Marvel TV, Jeph Loeb posted a letter giving a little hope for the future of these shows being revived. You can read the letter here:

If there was any doubt left about Tom Hiddleston returning to play Loki in the upcoming Disney + series, Disney Film Chief Alan Horn confirmed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that there is a Loki series in development and that Tom Hiddleston WILL be playing Loki. Previous rumors of Tom narrating the serieLoki from the afterlife appear to be false.

TV Line reported that Idris Elba will be hosting Saturday Night Live on March 9, 2019.

The Hollywood Reporter reported that Chris Hemsworth will star as WWE superstar Hulk Hogan in a biopic directed by The Joker’s Todd Phillips. It’ll be streamed on Netflix, and “sources say it will focus on his rise and is described as an origin story of the Hulkster and Hulkamania.”

According to The Daily Mail, Lupita Nyong’o might be considered for a role in Bond 25.

According to HN Entertainment, there might be a role for Zendaya in the upcoming female 21 Jump Street spinoff.

When news of The Eternals started coming out, there was a listing for an unknown character named Karen. MCU Cosmic reported that Karen is a human charater who’s an archeologists. The name Karen might be a placeholder name “for casting purposes” for a character in Jack Kirby’s The Eternals comics named Margo Damien whose father is an archaeologist. In the comics, Margo and her father are the ones to discover The Eternals. While possible, nothing has been officially confirmed.

‘Loki’ Disney+ Show Finds A Writer And Possible Plot Details

Unlike the last couple of weeks, it was a busy week for news including some exciting news/speculation for the upcoming Disney+ Loki series!

Black Panther won a BAFTA Award for Best Visual Effects.

Spider-Man: Into The Spiderverse won a BAFTA Award for Best Animated Film.

Black Panther won a Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media.

Luke Cage and Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse have both been nominated for a NAACP Award for Outstanding Soundtrack/Compilation.

Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse was nominated for a NAACP Award for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance.

Black Panther has been nominated for several NAACP Awards including Outstanding Directing in a Motion Picture, Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture, two Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture nominations, two Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture nominations, two Outstanding Breakthrough Performance in a Motion Picture nominations, Outstanding Ensemble Cast in a Motion Picture, Outstanding Motion Picture, Outstanding Writing in a Motion Picture and two Entertainer of the Year nominations.

The Wrap reported that Hulu will be streaming four Marvel adult animated series including Howard the Duck, M.O.D.O.K, Hit-Monkey, Tigra and Dazzler. These character’s will then have a team up special called The Offenders.

The Wrap also said that there’s a possibility that the canceled Marvel Netflix shows could one day be revived on Hulu.

AMC Theaters has posted on their website that the runtime for  Captain Marvel will be two hours and four minutes.

Deadline reported that Hulu’s Content Chief  Craig Erwich said that it’s likely that Runaways will get renewed for season 3.

Deadline also said that while unconfirmed it’s unlikely that Jessica Jones and The Punisher will be returning for more seasons. This makes sense considering the rest of the Marvel Netflix shows were canceled.

HN Entertainment reported that Art Director Jim Barr (Star Wars Episode IX) has joined the crew for Black Widow.

HN Entertainment also said that Black Widow will be filming at Pinewood Studios UK and has the working title Blue Bayou. This isn’t the official title. It’s like a codename so that people on the outside won’t know what movie is being filmed.

Collider reported that Ned Benson (The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby) will be rewriting the Black Widow script. A previous draft of the script had been written by Jac Schaeffer.

Funko released the first look at first wave of their Spider-Man: Far From Home pops at the New York Toy Fair. They’re so cute!

Discussing Film reported that The Eternals is expected to start filming in Atlanta in August. Production Weekly confirmed it when they reported that the start of production would be August 1st.

The Hollywood Reporter has reported that the Loki Disney + series will be written by Michael Waldron (Rick and Morty) and has a plot:

“Sources say the show will follow Loki as the trickster and shapeshifter pops up throughout human history as unlikely influencer on historical events.“

As of right now, this plot is just speculation. Nothing has been confirmed by Marvel or anyone connected with them.

TV Line reported that Agents of Shield season six will be set one year after the events of season five. The show will be skipping over what happened during Infinity War.

Agents of Shield season six will be premiering in May.

During the Singapore stop on the Captain Marvel press tour, Brie Larson said she’d like to see Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel in the sequel. This would be a good way to introduce Kamala into the MCU because in the comics Captain Marvel is Kamala’s role model/mentor.

Discussing Film reported that Michael Rooker (Yondu) has been cast in season three of HBO’s True Detective. 

The Wrap reported that Josh Brolin (Thanos) has joined Denis Vileneuve’s Dune remake. @Borys_Kit on Twitter revealed that Dune will be released on November 20, 2020.

The Wrap also reported that Benedict Cumberbatch (Dr. Strange) will be playing Satan in the Amazon Prime series Good Omens based on the book of the same name by Neil Gaimen and Terry Pratchett. The series will be available to stream on May 31st.

Deadline reported that Sebastian Stan is taking Chris Evan’s place in the Netflix movie, The Devil All The Time, due to scheduling conflicts.

Variety reported that Chris Evans latest action film Red Sea Diving Resort has been aquired for Netflix and will be available to stream sometime in 2019.

Deadline reported that Chris Pratt is in negotiations to star in a Sci-Fi film Ghost Draft. It’ll be directed by Lego: Batman director Chris Mckay. Right now, not much is known about the plot except for this logline: “A husband and father is drafted to fight a future war in which the fate of humanity may rely on his ability to correct issues of the past.”

The Hollywood Reporter reported that  Chadwick Boseman will star in Spike Lee’s latest film Da 5 Bloods,a film about Vietnam War veterans. It will be streamed on Netflix. A release hasn’t been set.
