Strange Snabs Sequel

This week has been full of interesting news and rumors. As the Holidays get closer, Hollywood releases a bunch of news before going on a two week break. During the news slump, I will try to have a movie review out, either for Ragnarok or Infinity War.

Speaking of Infinity War, it’s been nominated for two Critic’s Choice Awards for Best Action Movie and Best Visual Effects.

Black Panther has been nominated for twelve Critics Choice Awards, including an award for Best Picture.

Black Panther has also been nominated for two SAG Awards including Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.

Both Infinity War and Antman And The Wasp have been nominated for SAG Awards for Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture.

Den Of Geek reported that in an interview they conducted with Into The Spiderverse producers, Phil Lord and Chris Miller revealed that Dr. Strange showed up at the end of the first draft of the movie. It’s too bad that didn’t make the cut. I would’ve enjoyed seeing that!

In an interview with Discussing Film, Venom screenwriter Jeff Pinkner confirmed that a sequel is in the works. When asked about the possibility of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, Mr. Pinkner had this to say:

74D74C60-D654-4C72-B478-144F992C1BB5

I think it’d be cool to see Spider-Man go up against Venom. Hopefully, things will work out so that this can happen.

Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Scott Derrickson will be returning to direct Dr. Strange 2.  Benedict Cumberbatch and Benedict Wong are set to return as Dr. Strange and Wong respectively. Rachel McAdams is possibly returning in the role of Strange’s love interest, Dr. Christine Palmer as well.Marvel has started looking for someone to write the script.

Hollywood Reporter sources are hopeful that the script will be written in 2019, with filming starting in 2020, and hopefully releasing in May 2021 if all goes according to plan.

The Hashtag Show reported that Marvel has started casting supporting roles for their upcoming Black Widow movie including a role for a “female contemporary” for Natasha. No one knows what kind of role this particular character will play. The movie will start production early next year and is set for release in May 2020.

Discussing Film reported cinematographer Rob Hardy (Mission Impossible: Fallout) has been hired for Black Widow.

Cartoon Brew revealed that Spider-Man: Into The Spiderverse is officially a frontrunner in the Oscar race for Best Animated Feature. It’ll be interesting to see if Sony Animation will beat the normally Disney/Pixar dominated category.

A very reliable source has reported that the Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer will be released sometime next week. I currently don’t have a date, but as always the trailer will be shared here and on our Facebook page upon release.

Disney-Pixar’s next original film Onward will star Chris Pratt and Tom Holland, along with Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Octavia Spencer, and will be released March 6, 2020. Below in the following graphic from Chris Pratt Online is all that is currently known about the film.

Netflix’s Punisher Season 2 will be released in January 2019. If it follows the pattern of Ironfist, Luke Cage, and Daredevil, this could be the show’s final season before being cancelled.

According to Variety, don’t hold your breath for any of the Defenders characters to be revived on Disney Plus any time soon. Netflix had a clause in the show’s contract stating that characters from these shows can’t be used in other projects for two years after they get canceled. That means that the earliest these characters can be used is in 2021.

Antman and the Wasp will be added to Netflix on January 29,2019.

Elizabeth Olsen’s Facebook Watch show Sorry For Your Loss has been renewed for season two in 2019.

According to site We Got This Covered, the second trailer for Avengers Endgame is rumored to be released in March. This is just a rumor and no date has been confirmed.

My personal opinion is that people need to chill when it comes to trailers because Marvel is not ever going to release a trailer that will spoil anything of importance in their movies. They have been known to edit trailers in the past, so what little footage you do see may not actually make it into the final cut of the film. So, sit back, relax, the movie will get here when it gets here. And it will get here April 26, 2019.

Variety is predicting that Apple will buyout Sony Pictures in 2019. This would give Apple access to Spider-Man, Men In Black, and Jumanji as options for films and for their streaming service.

Maybe, and this is just me speculating, if this happens, we could see more of the Hulk as well. Right now, this is just a bunch of “What If?” It will  be interesting to see if this actually happens.

MCU Cosmic reported that Sony is hopeful about being able to extend their deal to keep Spider-Man in the MCU. Hopefully, things will work out and Spider-Man will stay in the MCU for years to come.

Spider-Man: Into The Spiderverse producer Amy Pascal told Vanity Fair in an interview that the Spiderverse sequel will focus on a romance between Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy. Gwen will also be the focus of the Spider-Women spin-off along with Cindy Moon (Silk) and Jessica Drew (Spider-Woman).

The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Benicio del Toro (the Collector from Guardians of the Galaxy) will be playing Swiper the Fox in the Live Action Dora the Explorer movie.

RadioTimes reported that The Night Manager, a show based on the book of the same name by John le Carré starring Tom Hiddleston as the lead Jonathan Pine, has a second series in the works but the original director Susanne Bier will not be returning.

There was so much news this week that maybe if the same thing happens, I’ll split the News Roundup into two articles instead of one.

Page News: Our Facebook page has recently crossed 4K likes and is rapidly growing. To celebrate, we’ll be having a Marvel themed Q&A next Friday through Sunday. A post will be pinned to the top of the page Friday and we’ll answer questions throughout the weekend when we have time.

Both of my Facebook pages, My Marvelous Escape and DCTV Is My Escape are looking for admins. You can apply for one or the other, or both. Please message My Marvelous Escape and DCTV Is My Drug if interested.

That’s all for this week, I’ll be back next week with another News Roundup.

Over and Out,

Oh, There’s My Avengers 4 Trailer!

This has been quite the week for Marvel fans! We’ve gotten not one, but two movie trailers! The second trailer for Captain Marvel was released during Monday Night Football and it looks AMAZING! (It’s also the only reason you’ll see me watch part of a football game! 😂)

My favorite part was Nick Fury petting and making a fuss over her cat! Captain Marvel will be released March 8, 2019. I can’t wait!

And at long last, we FINALLY got our first Avengers 4 trailer. And We also FINALLY know the title: Avengers: Endgame.

The release date is now set for April 26, 2019.

The trailer doesn’t show much, but what it does show is heartbreaking. I’m excited and scared for this movie at the same time. I also have questions like who’s gonna rescue Tony and what is Scott doing out of the Quantum Realm? Or is even out of the Quantum Realm in the first place? (Someone on Twitter pointed out that the footage of Scott could be from the archives, and if I have to suffer so will you! *Insert evil laugh here*) April feels like to long a wait, but it will be here before we know it!

Marvel Studios has reported that the trailer is now the most watched trailer in history with 289 million views in 24 hours!

Deadline also announced this week that Marvel will be introducing it’s first Asian superhero Shang-Chi into the MCU. Dave Callaham, a Chinese-American screenwriter, will write the script, and Marvel is currently looking for a director of Asian descent.

Deadline also reported that Brie Larson will star in a new Netflix movie called I’m Thinking Of Ending Things based on the novel of the same name by Ian Reid and adapted and directed by Charlie Kaufman.

There was a rumor that the first Spider-Man: Far From Home would be released this past Saturday. It was shown at CCXP, a comic con in Brazil. It hasn’t been released online yet, and no release date is confirmed, but it should be released very soon. Possibly as soon as next week. The trailer will be shared on our Facebook page upon release.

And for those worried if the trailer will spoil Avengers: Endgame, don’t worry. It’s been shared that the trailer doesn’t reveal what happened in Infinity War and doesn’t give a clue as to what happens in Endgame.

My Marvelous Escape News: We crossed 4K likes and are still growing! When I started this page 10 months ago, the only goal I had in mind was 1K by the end of the year. Thank you so much for being a part of our little community, and we hope to keep the party going into 2019. Thanks to my fellow admins, without you I most likely would have deleted this page when it hit 800 and got to be too overwhelming. I’m so glad I didn’t. Thanks for everything y’all do for this page. ❤️

To celebrate our little milestone, we’ll be having a Marvel related Q&A with the admins in the very near future.

I’m also still having a little trouble with Facebook and not being able to set up our new role play group so that it’s completely functional. Please be patient and I’ll have things up and running as soon as possible.

Admin Trials are tentatively set for the end of January 2019. If interested, please message us for an application. We can’t wait to hear from you!

I’ll see you next week for another News Roundup.

We’re Getting a Loki Series, And That’s No Trick!

Welcome, everyone to the first News Roundup for My Marvelous Escape! My name is Captain Stark and I have some very exciting news for you!

MCU Cosmic  broke the news earlier today that Disney President Bob Iger has confirmed that we will be getting a series on Disney’s streaming service (Disney +) centered around everyone’s favorite Trickster, Loki. The cherry on top of the sundae is that Tom Hiddleston will be returning to play the god of Mischief. There’s currently no information on what the show will be about, or when it will premiere, but the sun is beginning to shine again for our favorite character.

Infinity War director Joe Russo had an Instagram Q&A at his bar Duello today, and was kind enough to answer some questions on the still untitled Avengers 4. Here’s the information we know so far:

  1. Avengers 4 “will have the highest [stakes] of any of the films to date, without question.”
  2. The runtime is 3 hours long right now. Mr Russo said, “We’ll see if that holds.”
  3. They are only halfway through the editing process and are working on effects including beginning work on VFX shots.
  4. The Russo Brothers would love to work with Marvel again and would be “glad” to work with Marvel in the future.
  5. We “may or may not see” an Avengers 4 trailer before 2019.

I love the little bit of info we’re getting as well as frustrated over the lack of information about Avengers 4. It scares me about the movie having higher stakes. How can things possibly get worse after the devastation of Infinity War?! I guess we’ll find out when Avengers 4 is released in theatres on May 3, 2019.

I’m also very excited about Loki getting his own series. I would love for them to introduce Verity from the Loki, Agent of Asgard comics. What would you like to see included in a series like this? Let me know in the comments below. I’d also like your thoughts on making the News Roundup a regular part of the page. Would you like us to share the latest from Marvel with you?Thank you for being a part of our community. I love you all! ❤ ❤ ❤

Over and Out,

Captain Stark.
