Deadline reported Brie Larson has two new projects coming to Netflix.

1. Her directorial debut “Unicorn Store will debut April 5, 2019. Brie stars in the film along with her “Captain Marvel” co-star Samuel L. Jackson. This is the third time these two have worked together. They also starred with Tom Hiddleston in “Kong: Skull Island.” The movie “centers on a woman who moves back in with her parents, and receives an invitation to a store that will test her ideas of what it really means to grow up.”

2. She will also star in and direct “Lady Business.” The movie “tells the true story of two young female entrepreneurs, Penelope Gazin and Kate Dwyer, who had to invent a third male company founder in order to be taken seriously in the business world.”

Both of these sound interesting and I hope I’ll be able to check them out.

Collider reported that Zendaya is in the beginning stages of being cast in Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune” remake. If cast, she would play Timothee Chalamet’s love interest Chani.

News

Welcome Home

Because it’s just after Christmas, there’s not much in the way of news, but there are a few interesting tidbits including something huge for Marvel.

The Fox-Disney deal is very close to being finished. This means that character like the X-men and Fantastic Four could eventually be introduced into the MCU.

Kevin Feige was on Variety’s “Playback” podcast and when asked if they could start  developing stories with Fox-owned Marvel properties he said, “No, but we heard it’s looking very, very good and could happen in the first six months of the new year.”

Credit for above quote @kristapley on Twitter.

It’ll be nice to have these characters home where they belong. It would be nice if Sony and Universal would follow suit and relinquish their rights to characters like Hulk and Spider-Man so that those characters could be home permanently as well.

Discussing Film reported that Agents of Shield season seven is eyeing a February start date for filming.

The Sincura Group has announced an exciting opportunity for its members: the chance to see some footage from Avengers 4. The event will be in the UK sometime in April. It will also include a Q&A with co-director Joe Russo and some of the film’s cast, and an after party where members will be able to meet the film cast and crew.

It sounds like the premieres they were having last year for Infinity War. I wonder if Marvel will have similar events in other countries as well.

I hope y’all had a wonderful Christmas and I hope you a wonderful New Year. Type at ya later!

Losing A Legend And Gaining An Agents Renewal.

Earlier this week we lost a legend when Stan Lee, co-creator of Marvel Comics, passed away at the age of 95. He was the creator or co-creator of an innumerable amount of characters including Dr. Strange, Spider-Man, Thor, Hulk, and Iron Man. He changed the comics industry forever with these memorable characters and will be greatly missed.

The Hollywood Reporter reported that Agents of Shield got renewed for a seventh season ahead of its season 6 premiere in Summer 2019. Just like season 6, season 7 will have 13 episodes. There is no word if Clark Gregg will be returning as Agent Coulson, but don’t freak out yet! Just because there’s no news, it doesn’t mean that he won’t return. At this point, revealing anything about our favorite agent would be considered a spoiler, if you remember how the story ended in season 5. (No spoilers for those who haven’t seen it yet!)

Tom Hiddleston will be returning to the London stage in Harold Pinter’s Betrayel during Jamie Lloyd’s Pinter at the Pinter season to commemorate the 10-year anniversary of the playwright’s death. Tom will be playing Robert, one of the four characters in the play, which is about a seven- year extramarital affair shown in reverse chronological order. The play will run from March to June 2019 and general admission tickets are available November 30.

The Hashtag Show released the character breakdowns for two upcoming Phase 4 films, Black Widow and The Eternals. You can check out the character breakdowns in the links provided below:

Black Widow: http://thathashtagshow.com/2018/11/12/exclusive-marvel-studios-black-widow-character-breakdowns-revealed-as-casting-gets-underway/

The Eternals: http://www.thathashtagshow.com/2018/11/16/exclusive-the-eternals-character-lineup-revealed/

They also reported that Black Widow is expected to start filming in February or March of 2019 while The Eternals is rumored to start filming in September 2019.

Last but not least, The DisInsider reported that there’s a rumor about who will replace James Gunn as director of Guardians Vol. 3. Marvel is considering Bumblebee director, Travis Knight. He’s known for directing several animated films including Kubo And The Two Strings and Boxtrolls. Remember, this is just a rumor and nothing has been confirmed, but it’s nice to know that Marvel is eventually planning to continuing the Guardians franchise, even without James Gunn at the helm.
