Someone, Get This Movie An Oscar!

Awards season is in full swing and Black Panther has made history as the first Comic Book Movie to be nominated for Best Picture. It’s also been nominated for Best Costume Design, Best Production Design, Best Original Score, Best Original Song, Best Sound Editing, and Best Sound Mixing.

Infinity War and Spider-Man: Into The Spiderverse were also nominated for Best Visual Effects and Best Animated Film respectively.

Empire Magazine released several new stills and images  from Captain Marvel.

Robert Downey Jr. presented Kevin Feige with the David O. Selznick Award at the Producer Film Awards.

Spider-Man: Into The Spiderverse also won a Producer’s Guild Award for Best Animated Feature.

According to Digital Spy Film, the first TV spot for Avengers: Endgame is expected to premiere during the Super Bowl.  

Geeks Worldwide has reported that Black Widow is expected to start filming on February 28, 2019

While promoting Once Upon A Deadpool in China, Ryan Reynolds told Variety that Deadpool 3 is in the works. He said that they’re “looking to go in a completely different direction” with the next movie.

Late last year, Netflix shockingly cancelled one of its most successful shows, Daredevil. In an interview with, Charlie Cox admitted to secretly signing the Save Daredevil petition, and that if possible, he’d like to play Daredevil again either in movies or a show for Disney +

Variety reported that Matt Smith (Dr. Who) will be in Sony’s upcoming Spider-Man spinoff Morbius. He is reportedly playing a major, undisclosed role in the film. Morbius is about the Spider-Man villain of the same name. Jared Leto stars in the titular role, and it will be released on July 31, 2020 according to Sony Pictures.

That Hashtag Show reported that C. Robert Cargill is returning to write the Dr. Strange 2 script. The movie is currently set for release on May 7, 2021.

Non-Marvel Related Projects

Fandango released a new clip from Chris Pratt’s latest movie, The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part.

Advanced tickets are available now. It comes out February 8, 2019.

The Hollywood Reporter announced that Dectective Pikachu (Ryan Reynolds) will officially be getting a sequel.  The first movie will be released on May 10, 2019.

That Hashtag Show reported that Chadwick Boseman has signed on to star in the show #FreeRayShawn for the new short form streaming service Quibi. Each episode is expected to be 15 minutes long. The show will be directed by Antoine Fuqua and is reported to be a modern take on the 1975 film Dog Day Afternoon. They are also hoping to cast Idris Elba in the second lead role.

Chris Hemsworth announced the upcoming release of his new fitness app CentrFit. The app will give you access to Chris’s health and fitness team and will include workouts, recipes, and more. It’s expected to be released February 4, 2019.

Netflix is working on a series that shows a day in the life of celebrities. Chris Pratt will be featured in an episode for season one.

The Hollywood Reporter announced Chris Evans will be narrating the IMAX Original Film, Superpower Dogs. It will be released on March 15, 2019. You can watch the first trailer below.
