Black Panther’s Still Roaring Strong

I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year! This week there weren’t any huge developments in the world of Marvel, but as usual, there were a few pieces of information.

The Hollywood Reporter announced Letitia Wright (Shuri) has been nominated for a BAFTA Rising Star Award. This award is voted for by the public, and the winner for the award will be announced at the BAFTA’s on February 10. She’s also been named the highest earning box office actor of 2018.

Black Panther was nominated for the Best Picture Award by the Producers Guild of America. I’m really hoping it gets nominated for an Academy Award as well. This film definitely deserves all the awards!

Captain Marvel is getting closer and closer. On Monday, ESPN will release an extended TV spot for the movie during the National College Football Championship, and several theater chains have updated their websites with a runtime of 2 hours and ten minutes, give or take a minute. This means that  advanced tickets should go on sale soon.

Heroic Hollywood just reported that a new synopsis for Captain Marvel has been released by Disney in their press kit for their upcoming 2019 releases. The synopsis reads as follows:

c3da610f-2645-40f3-b36d-26c13f00b211

I am so excited for this movie! March 8, 2019 can’t come fast enough!

The trailer of Season 2 of The Punisher has been released. If it follows the pattern of Luke Cage, Daredevil, and Iron Fist, season 2 will most likely be its last. It will be uploaded to Netflix on January 18. You can watch the trailer below.

Two ex developers behind the game Hearthstone left Blizzard to start a new company. That company, Second Dinner, announced a couple of days ago that they are creating a new game for Marvel. There’s currently no word about what kind of game it will be.

Page News: My Marvelous Escape will be having a movie marathon to countdown to Avengers 4 and to celebrate the page’s first anniversary on February 5, 2019. Two chats have been set up for you to choose from: Chronological and Release Order. There will be a third chat so that we can all watch the last two films together. Let us know what movie chat you want added to. Our first movie will be on January 5th at 8:30 PM EST. Come join us!

That’s all for this week. Type at ya later!

Signing Off,

Captain Stark
